What services are available at the Clinic for Autism?
Services provided at the clinic include but are not limited to:

1. Providing or confirming a diagnosis of Autism, Asperger’s, or Pervasive Developmental Disorder, NOS.
2. Reviewing biomedical treatment options and determining an individualized plan.
3. Nutritional Counseling
4. Lab testing (based on the individual’s needs): comprehensive stool analysis, urine/hair toxic metals, urine metabolic analysis, blood allergy levels, nutritional panel, general blood work, and more. Laboratory companies utilized are Doctor’s Data, Genova Diagnostics, Great Plains Laboratory, Metametrix, Spectracell, and others.
5. Determining heavy metal toxic burden and in certain cases providing chelation by mouth or IV and IV nutritional treatments.
7. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, CranioSacral Therapy, BioSet (these services are provided at the Clinic for Autism by Hilton’s Heartland- please visit www.hiltonsheartland.com for more information)
8. Music Therapy (provided at the Clinic for Autism by the Music Therapy Center of Houston- please visit www.musictherapycenter.org for more information) |

Do you bill insurance?
No. We do provide you with HCFA forms and the appropriate coding needed to complete the forms. Whenever possible we utilize your insurance to complete appropriate blood work or lab tests.
What are your fees?
Consultations and follow-ups are billed at $300 per hour for Dr. Pothuluri (physician) and $200 per hour with Dr. Jairaj (dietitian). Fees for services provided by Hilton’s Heartland or the Music Center of Houston should be obtained from these companies.
Do you accept payment plans?
Yes. We can accept payment in two to three installments. We accept cash, major credit cards, and checks.

What is your cancellation policy?
Any cancellations made greater than 24 hours in advance will not incur a cancellation fee. If a cancellation is made less than 24 hours before the appointment a 25% cancellation fee will be charged to your account or to the credit card on file.
How long is an appointment?
Appointment times vary based on individual needs. However, generally a first appointment will take one hour, but may extend to 1 ½ hours in certain cases. Follow up appointments are usually 15-30 minutes long.
When do I schedule our follow-up?
Generally, follow-ups are recommended at 6-8 week intervals, but again can vary based on an individual basis.

Why do I need to see a dietitian?
The nutritionist who has a doctorate (Ph.D,) in nutrition and is a registered dietitian will review the individual’s current dietary pattern and determine the appropriate dietary changes required for the patient. Depending on the initial evaluation a diet will be selected such as gluten-free and casein-free (GFCF), elimination diets, specific carbohydrate diet (SCD), Feingold or others.
Do I still need to see the dietitian if I am already implementing a diet?
Yes. The dietitian will review your current diet and determine if any changes are necessary. In some cases, a minor change in the diet can be beneficial for the individual.
What information is provided by the dietitian?
Based on a thorough evaluation, the dietitian will provide detailed information regarding the dietary recommendations for the individual. Handouts and a report regarding the nutritional needs of the patient will be provided.
